Local councillors, candidates and supporters of Labour’s Fair Deal for Derbyshire campaign hit the streets in every part of county again this weekend to deliver more Derbyshire Labour newspapers ahead of the County Council election on 2nd May.

Derbyshire County Council Labour Group Leader Anne Western said, “This weekend saw even more people out campaigning for a Fair Deal for Derbyshire as we delivered more newspapers across the county.

The hard working people of Derbyshire who I have spoken to think it is unfair that Cameron and Osborne, and their Tory friends at Derbyshire County Council are making life harder with VAT rises, the bedroom tax, and fuel price increases.  The Tories say we are all in this together yet next month millionaires will be getting a tax break!

That is why up and down the county we are telling people about why we want a Fair Deal for Derbyshire.  This means a county council that will stand up to Cameron’s cuts, revive the local economy and help hard-pressed families.”
