£50,000 has been made available for development of youth activities in Derbyshire.  The grant scheme known as YOUTHINC, We Grant has been developed with Derbyshire Youth Council and will award up to £1,500 to community groups.

The funding will help deliver youth councillor’s priorities each year and can be spent on traditional activities like youth, sports, music or games clubs as well as dance or drama sessions and more innovative projects too.

Members of the youth council will help decide how money is awarded and will consider things like whether the project is accessible to all young people, how many young people will benefit and how long the project will run for.

Deputy Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Councillor Damien Greenhalgh, said: “I am so proud that despite the extremely challenging times that the council is facing we are able to support excellent youth initiatives across our county.

“I’m very much looking forward to receiving applications to consider alongside the very hardworking members of our youth council.”

Organisations wanting to make applications to YOUTHINC, We Grant can access an application pack here.  Applicants should consider work towards the priorities of the youth council which are outlined in the pack.
