At yesterday’s Full Council meeting Derbyshire Labour Group amended the Council Plan to help prevent Derbyshire schools being forced to become academies.  A recently produced Government White Paper has suggested all schools will be made to become academies in a process set to be completed by 2022.

LABOUR-LED Derbyshire County Council is leading on a project to bring a new railway station to Ilkeston.  The town has been without a railway station for around 50 years, but residents are delighted that construction for a new station will begin next week.
